BON SECOURS NEWS Sr. Patricia
Eck, C.B.S. Installed as Chairperson
of the Board of trustees of the
Catholic Health Association
Sr. Patricia A.
Eck, C.B.S., chairperson of the Board of Directors of Bon
Secours Health System, was installed as chairperson of the
Board of Trustees of the Catholic Health Association (CHA) on
August 5 at the 87th Annual Catholic Health Assembly. As a
member of CHAs Board of Trustees, Sr. Pat Eck will
collaborate with other Board members to provide governance to
set strategic directions in the areas of mission, ethics, and
advocacy to support and strengthen the Catholic health
ministry in the United States.
My hope is that
we can be the moral and prophetic voice that is needed in our
Church and world today, Sr. Eck said as she assumed her new
office. Our call is bold and clear. We are committing
ourselves to advocate for justice and to transform our health
ministry.
Previous to her
current CHA position, Sr. Eck has served as
secretary/treasurer as well as vice-chairperson of the
Catholic Health Association. She has over 30 years of service
in nursing, management and sponsorship roles for Bon Secours
Health System facilities. She currently serves as chairperson
for the Board of Directors of Bon Secours Health System, based
in Marriottsville, Md. Over the years, Sr. Pat served as
Senior Vice President of Continual Improvement and Education
and then Executive Vice President of Mission and Quality at
the Bon Secours-St. Marys Health Corporation. She has served
as Chief Operating Officer of St. Marys Hospital in Richmond,
Va. and Associate Administrator for Patient Care as well as
Acting Executive Director of Bon Secours Hospital in Grosse
Point, Mich. In addition, with 18 years of clinical nursing
experience, Sr. Patricia Eck brings a solid understanding of
patient care delivery to her governance roles. She currently
serves on the leadership team of the Congregation of the
Sisters of Bon Secours, USA. Sr. Pat earned a Masters degree
in Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia
(VCU), a Masters degree in Nursing from Catholic University
of America and a Bachelors degree in Nursing from the Medical
College of Virginia (VCU).
