Care Center in Riverdale, New York and the Burke
Rehabilitation Hospital Join Forces
Riverdale, New York (October
15, 2002) The Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in
White Plains, New York has joined with Schervier Nursing Care
Center, a member of the Bon Secours New York Health System,
Inc. in Riverdale, New York to provide management and
comprehensive rehabilitation services at the renowned
Schervier Nursing Care Center.
Long recognized as one of the
leading rehabilitation hospitals in the United States, this
partnership, which broadens and expands Scherviers existing
program, utilizes Burkes management and rehabilitation
expertise to provide the highest quality care to patients.
This collaboration, states
John Ryan, Executive Director of the Burke Rehabilitation
Hospital, provides an enhancement of Scherviers existing
program and includes all facets of rehabilitative care.
The Burke/Schervier
Rehabilitation Program, whose main focus is short term
rehabilitation, provides physical, occupational, recreational
and speech therapy, as well as the assessment for training of,
the use of adaptive devices, hydrotherapy, orthopedics, IV
therapy and wound care. In addition, the program also provides
fully equipped living quarters for training in the activities of
daily living.
Schervier Nursing Care Center
recently developed a 33-bed designated rehabilitation unit to
meet the areas growing demand for short term rehabilitation
services. We are excited about having Burke at Schervier.
This collaboration further enhances our rehabilitative services
and brings Scherviers Short Term Rehabilitative Program to a
new level of excellence, states Bonnie Burke, Administrator of
Schervier Nursing Care Center.
Designed with patient comfort in
mind, the new unit is located on the first floor of the facility
and features private and semi-private suites.
