held until 1999, when she left to join Cardiac and Thoracic Surgical
Associates in Richmond.
Edwards holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from
James Madison University and a Master’s degree in Health
Administration (MHA) from Virginia Commonwealth University. She
completed her residency with Central Health in Lynchburg and began her

and 2002, she served as an adjunct faculty member of the Medical
College of Virginia as instructor for the MHA graduate course in
Physician Practice Management.
“Terrie Edwards brings outstanding experience and leadership to St.
Francis, which are critical as Bon Secours expands its services to a
growing patient population south of the James,” said Peter J. Bernard,
Chief Executive Officer, Bon Secours Richmond. “Under her direction,
we are confident that St. Francis will deliver the highest quality of
care to nearly 400,000 residents in Chesterfield and nearby
communities.”
“I am very excited to be part of the St. Francis team providing
improved access to healthcare for Chesterfield and surrounding areas,”
Edwards said. “This will be the first time that Bon Secours has been
able to bring this level of service to the south side of the James
River. As I talk with fellow residents in Chesterfield, I am
encouraged by the growing level of support for St. Francis. I look
forward to working with the leaders of the community and Bon Secours
in fulfilling a vision that they have had for many years.”
Edwards has numerous professional affiliations, and is currently
serving as Regent for the Central and Tidewater regions of the
American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). In 1993, Edwards was
the recipient of ACHE’s “Early Career Healthcare Executive Award” for
the state of Virginia. She also is serving as the 2002-2003 president
of the Richmond Medical Group Management Association (RMGMA).
A Richmond area native and a lifelong Virginian, Edwards graduated
