New CEO Appointed to Lead Bon Secours Kentucky Health System

Marriottsville, MD – Following an in-depth national search, Bon
Secours Health System today announced the appointment of Mark Gordon,
a highly respected hospital leadership executive, as its new Chief
Executive Officer for Bon Secours Kentucky Health System in Ashland,
KY. Gordon will assume his new responsibilities at Our Lady of
Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH) on January 19, 2004.
Gordon will come to Bon Secours Kentucky Health System from Durham
Regional Hospital, a 369-bed community hospital that is part of the
Duke University Health System in Durham NC, where he currently serves
as Chief Operating Officer. Gordon brings to OLBH experience from
various environments in both academic and community hospitals.
Gordon stated, "Our Lady of Bellefonte has a rich history of providing
compassionate and quality care. I am honored to be selected to serve
as CEO and look forward to being an active member of the Ashland
community." Gordon will relocate to the community with his wife and
two children, ages 6 and 9 years.
Sister Rose Marie Jasinski, Bon Secours Health System Senior Vice
President of Sponsorship said that Gordon will bring strong leadership
skills to OLBH at an important time in its growth. “OLBH is an
important ministry of the Bon Secours Health System and we’re pleased
to have such a talented leader and health care professional,” she
said. Gordon earned his Master of Health Services Administration from
the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, and Bachelor of Science
from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. He has
served in key leadership positions at Mission St. Joseph’s Health
System in Asheville, NC, and Pitt County Memorial Hospital in
Greenville, NC.
John McGinnis, Chair of the Bon Secours Kentucky Health System Board
of Directors stated, “Mark possesses excellent healthcare
leadership skills with a proven record of success in directing
complex, quality-oriented healthcare service operations. We
are extremely pleased to have someone of his experience and
capabilities to provide visionary leadership for OLBH and the Ashland
community.”
Bon Secours Kentucky Health System, a member of Bon
