New EVP/Administrator Appointed for Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center

Marriottsville, MD, January 30, 2006 - It was announced today that Dan Duggan has been appointed as Executive Vice President/Administrator of Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center in Norfolk, Virginia, part of the Bon Secours Hampton Roads Health System (BSHRHS). Duggan was selected from a pool of very talented BSHSI senior and executive leaders. He will transfer to his new role on March 20, 2006.

Duggan served in the role of Chief Executive Officer of Bon Secours Holy Family Regional Health System from 2002-2004 until the creation of the joint venture with Altoona Hospital when he assumed the role of EVP/Administrator, Altoona Regional Health System. Prior to his position as CEO of Bon Secours Holy Family in 2002, Duggan served as vice president of patient care/chief nursing officer. He is a Navy veteran and received his Master of Arts, Health Care Administration, Canyon College, Caldwell, Idaho, and bachelor’s in nursing from California State University at Chico. He came to Bon Secours Holy Family in 2000 from Samaritan Health System of Watertown, N.Y., where he was vice president of patient care services for nine years.

As EVP/Administrator, Duggan will report directly to Richard A. Hanson, BSHR Chief Executive Officer. In this position, Duggan will lead, manage and direct DePaul’s operation, continued enhancement of physician relationships and focus on its growth and profitability strategies.
