Sister Dorothy Brogan, CBS, Chaplain, Homecare
and Palliative Care, Bon Secours St. Francis Health System, has
received the 2007 Woman Religious Award from the South Carolina
Council of Catholic Women (SCCCW). Nominated by the Saint Mary’s
Women’s Club, Sr. Dorothy was recognized for her service to the
patients and families of the Upstate. She was presented the
award recently by the Most Rev. Robert J. Baker, STD, Bishop of
Charleston, at the SCCCW’s annual convention in Columbia, S.C.
Born in Ireland, Sr. Dorothy came to Greenville in 2002. She has
lived and ministered in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia,
Florida and Ecuador, serving others with the Sisters of Bon
Secours International for more than 35 years. In her role as
chaplain of Palliative Care, she provides spiritual support to
patients of any age and at any stage of a chronic, debilitating
or life-threatening illness.
